Ballparking power gains

dunkindomnuts is looking and cant find one used. hes in the same boat right now, 3.4 on a gen 5 and its just to much with out more mods.

andrew here the OP has a press on too, so he needs a hub and pulley.

@explicit spade, I agree with you completely. I just wanted to know if the OP has actually been to the track or the dyno to show some actual gains and not just perceived. I remember when I swapped pcm's to a zzp 1.0 tune and it totally changed the way the car drove, so I would suggest that the transmisison tune is what made the OP think the car was a lot faster.

and X3 on the 3.6. just buy a new hub with pulley from zzp or intense.

ZZP has pulleys, lol

More air in, even if it's 5%, coupled with more air out, higher ratio rockers... No records, but no placebo effect either. So, Pacesetters, 1.9 YT RR's, ported TB and GenIII, Overkill Tune, 8* knock stock down to 1-3 WOT and the car definitely picked up balls! Then I got a WB and learned and in -car tuned and was a lol bit better even : )

But yes, like vitamins, we all waste $... Lolz, but feel good doing it for sure :D

But... if I buy all 14 of them new from ZZP, that's $840 + shipping.

Dont need all 14, you have to have a plan. 3.8 ~ 3.2, then 3.2 ~ lower... Mod dependent... There's really no need to add drama. Plus, once you've tuned, you can keep one or two and sell off the rest getting half your $ back.

Funny thing that afflicts GP owners is modding or wanting HP cheaply. It's not cheap!

golden rule that should be etched in the brain...

CHEAP/FAST/RELIABLE

Anyone can only chose two at one time, three is impossible. So Fast & Reliable omits Cheap, if you want Cheap & Fast, it won't be Reliable, lolz... Have fun : )

I have not brought it to the track or dynoed, will probably go to the track sometime in the next few weeks as fall kicks in. And yeah I understand from what everyone is saying that I should pulley up since 3.4 is too much for me right now, so I mean I might just do that, or cam it if I feel like it down the road (once the next paycheck hits lol). Thanks for the help guys, I appreciate it!

you could just add some high octane. run your gas tank almost empty then add some 105 octane, and I bet you can add like 3 or 4 degrees of timing.

All lies, used parts and you can have all 3!

even used, the parts which make it reliable are not cheap... And if you get it cheap, I'll bet they don't last long, lmao... But you can save a few bucks I'll agree, just buyer beware and know where/who you're getting it from.

That would make for an expensive and inconvenient daily driver, but could definitely be done.

I know I don't NEED all 14, but it's a want. That way small changes can be made whenever necessary. Minute things could be altered and every inch of power could be squeezed out of any setup... And it would make a cool conversation piece for the living room table when they aren't being used. Win/win

I don't understand your logic here. I've driven stock GTP and GTP with mods like his and mine, and ours is way faster than stock.

Butt dyno is so accurate. Posts like this go to show the max laughs.

Where are the actual numbers?

If you have nothing to compare to stock, it's all toss-ups and prayers.

I could put a 3.0" and an intake on a GTP and say it feels way faster than stock, but I'm sure in the real world, it isn't.

Torco Accelerator is what you meant. I have used it a bit and it works very well. it is much cheaper than actual race gas depending on the blend you go with.
