balance shaft removal PLZ HELP

Hi, I want to put a rollmaster double timing chain on because im upgrading my cam.(or i want to)upgrade it to a ZZP XP CAM. If i remove the balance shaft gear and leave the balance shaft in will i have to get the engine balanced? or will it run ok without doing so? Or has anyone ran a single chain with this cam? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.
 


The general populous is gonna say do the double roller. If i had the money i would. You can remove the balance shaft if you would like, you wont be the first or last person to do it. It will make the engine run a tad rougher not much, but just goin off other people, i havent done it and wont, for the sake of you wont gain much. You need to block off the rear oil hole though by some means.
 
Don't do the double roller, just put the stock chain back in there with a new tensioner. The headache with the double roller isn't worth the worry of losing it later on down the line.
Plenty of people still run a stock chain with higher springs and it goes just fine.
 
im on a double roller for like 30k miles now. i am not afraid of double rollers in the least. anyone that is doesnt take the time to make sure it is on right.

also, dont remove the balance shaft, just take the gear off and let it sit in there. then you dont have to worry about plugging up oiling holes.
 


I would/and did remove the balancer shaft when installing my double Roller, for a few extra minutes of work, its worth knowing you did it right...

Ok if i just go with the single chain and new tensioner how often will i have to change the tensioner/chain.....and which chain should i use if i do decide to go single oem or rollmaster ect. which do you guys think is stronger /more durable/reliable? Thanks all info is very much appreciated
