Bad wheel bearing???

So my 2006 Grand Prix GXP has been acting up lately. My abs, traction control, and stability control light come on anytime I either hit a bump or turn at full lock to the left. I think I have it narrowed down to a bad wheel bearing and I think I've narrowed which one is causing the problems. I haven't scanned any ABS codes because my scanner won't do it and the shop wants $100 just to scan and write down some dang codes for me (I can replace two wheel hubs for less than that!!!). I'm almost positive however that it is a wheel bearing, but just wanted some other opinions.

Other than the ABS light being especially sensitive to me turning at full lock and bumps (especially bumps that hit the passenger side especially hard), I also have an audible squeaking/squealing coming from the front passenger side wheel (I had someone else drive the car while I listened to each wheel). This squeak goes with the speed of the car and does not seem to be related to breaks as it stays the same whether I'm braking easy, braking hard, or not braking at all. The car also pulls to the right (steering wheel cocked to the left to drive straight), although this could be the result of poor alignment. All the wiring looks to be in excellent shape visually and so do the plugs.

However I plan on replacing both front hub assemblies eventually, I only plan on replacing the front passenger one for now, since this seems to be the one that is causing my issues for right now and I don't have a whole lot of money until my summer job gets rolling at 60 hrs a week, I'm just an 18 year old high school student who got this car off a straight up trade for a 2003 Dodge Ram I had bought.
 


I have a 05 GTP with 70k miles. ABS/TC/SC lights were all coming on once and a while. Ignored it for 6 months then one day on a trip going down the highway she sounded like a helicopter. Im almost positive your wheel bearings are shot. Replace both, I didn't and now less than a year later the lights have returned. Not super hard to change just make sure the discs have cooled down after driving or youll have issues getting em off. If im not mistaken u need a 34mm socket. I will dbl check this and report back.
 
33-34 sounds about right, I believe they're the same hub assemblies on these cars, although I haven't cross referenced part numbers. I ended up purchasing a hub assembly from RockAuto for a little over $40 shipped to my door. I'll replace the passenger side for now, although I plan on replacing the driver's side come summer, but as of right now the passenger side is the one that's giving me the most fits.

Yeah its not a difficult job, I've actually done it 4 times... :th_depressed:, both front hubs on my first car/truck (2001 Dodge Ram) and then both front hubs on my second truck (2003 Dodge Ram). So I think I can do it with my eyes closed this time :th_laugh-lol2:.

Cheap bearings are the last thing you wanna do they don't last you'll be warrantying it out or replacing it again I'm sure. We recommend sticking to the better bearings such as timken/skf/Moog/delco and buying locally that way you have a 3 year warranty and exchanges are rather simple.

If your putting cheap ones on only do the bad one. The new cheap one will fail way before the other old one goes bad.

Also put anti seize on all the bolts. Makes it easier to change the next couple failures.
 
The brand I bought ive used on both my trucks, one which I wheeled pretty hard one time through a field. They lasted me and they come with a 1 year warranty, which with me being only 18 and already on my 3rd vehicle, I don't keep cars that long hardly anyway... One day I'll probably move to an F body or another truck (diesel this time).
 
All three lights leans towards a bad module, could just be connection though. I just went through this on my GXP. Speaking from doing it.

Not the case. If ABS goes out, TC and SC will as well. If one link gets messed up, one sensor goes bad, one single thing goes wrong, then it all goes because it's all intertwined.

Anyways update... I received my hub assembly the other day and installed it today. Everything was seized. Rotor was seized to the wheel bearing, wheel bearing was seized as well. Gotta love hydraulic three prong pullers and deadblow hammers :th_devil:. I bolted the new hub assembly up (using anti-seize on everrrythingg) and took her for a drive and ran over a couple bumps and did a full lock turn to left and got no lights. Now I won't be able to tell if my ABS issues are gone for good or if the squealing has stopped completely (it only squealed after driving for a while and I didn't test drive the car super far) so I will check back. If my issues return then its on to the driver's side hub assembly.
 
haven't seen one with all three lights and hasn't been a communication error. I just fixed mine and now I have abs and tc lights. No brake.
