Bad TPS?

I was getting a code for a bad TPS, so I replaced it. However, now it is barely running. When I start it up, while still in park, it idles at 3K. It will accelerate on its own when in drive, and while I am sitting at a light with the brake on, it idles at 1750. I followed the recommended installation procedures (disconnect battery for a few minutes to let the ECM settings clear). Could this TPS be bad as well?

Nope. I am going to have the auto parts place exchange it tomorrow and see if that works. I removed the TPS, then reinstalled it and it ran fine until I killed the engine. Once I started it back up, it was doing the same thing. This leads me to believe it is a mechanical problem with the TPS I got.

So I reinstalled it again, and it ran fine for a bit, but when I put it in park, it idled at 2500. So, I tried pushing the throttle back manually. This caused it to drop, and idled around 1500 (still high, but much better). I am guessing it is sticking for some reason. I'm waiting for the engine to cool down, and I'm going to lubricate it. It's just crazy enough to work.

I have to to get it to line up with the screw holes. I tried putting it on without twisting it, but it doesn't work.

i had a TPS code lat year... replaced it 2 times... car was still acting funny... turns out the the vacuum line right under the supercharger snout was dry rotted and came loose .. patched it up and no probs since then.
