Bad tint job

the owner is saying he cant allow it to be redone and swears its something i cant avoid because its an older car and that hes got other cars there with that issue. he did say that if i have another shop do it and it turns out better he'll refund my money so looks like ill have to go that route

in that case, take your money first, go get a est to remove their bad tint job, and re do it. then say pay up sucker.

personally, i dont take this crap lightly, he would be fixing it for me due to seeing my f ing mug every day all pissed off at him.

and you can park your car and slander the crap out of him, as long as your claim is true, not a thing he can do. that alone should make him redo it.

make a huge ass sign for the side of your car telling the world how bad your tint job was, you can even paper the phone poles if you wanted to. just to piss him off, and loose customers to boot. park right out front his shop, let him call the cops, it will be a good laugh when they show up.

like i said, as long as your story is true, not a thing he or the cops can do, after all the customer is "always right" and your far from satisfied.

any warranty i have doesnt cover the install though from what ive read, at this point its really up to him if he wants to fix it, atleast from what i read online and ive already gotten into arguments with him and threatened to tell people they do bad work, so i dont think hes too happy with me either

at this point tell us here who to avoid. who want to deal with this crap. we got members all over the country. truth is maybe 5 country's too lol

Yep, get it in writing with the owner's signature that he will refund you when you get it redone at a different shop, otherwise take his ass to small claims court and/or do what Scotty said.

Yeah they fubared bad!!! My car originally had 20% all the way around. Someone broke into my car and busted the little quarter glass on my back door (thank god for insurance) AND while replacing that piece of glass the shop scratched the tint on the door glass also. I went down and told them that I don't want half my tint on one side not matching the rest so redo it all. They haggled with me and I called my insurance company in return told the shop to redo all the tint.. Didn't mean to get long winded, but the shop removed all the 20% and replaced with 5%. Two years later no bubbles, not even on the back glass and that's with the shop removing old tint first...

Yeah if the owner said he'd pay for another shop to do it, ask him which shop he recommends and have it direct billed to HIM not you!!! He sounds like a piss poor buisness owner, sorry to hear about it!!

I tint.. Well I can tint, and perfect one peice rears on fbodys and vw bugs..I quit because it was hard to keep my patients so I gave it up. If you have dirt under your tint it's the installers fault for not cleaning the surface properly. Simple as that. I never would have paid for it until I did a nice close inspection

thats the thing these spots just started becoming noticeable lately, they werent there when the windows were done at first

i must say the back window was the most work, it took me a good hour to shrink it to fit right. damn brow needed a lot of shrinking too.

i looked at the job like most repairs, "i can do that" and i did, only cost me 60 bucks to do it myself.

This is why you ask around before you go somewhere to tint your car. Thats really bogus x if inwere you id walk up to the owner and say "listen. Either youre going to fix my tint job, give me my money back. Or im going to park over there witha. Big sign and show everyone your guys' quality of work and that you wont stand behind it"

First a couple of things... How did you pay? Cash, check or debit card... You're in worse shape then if you paid with credit card. If the latter, you can call them and let them know you are having a dispute over quality of work performed and the vendor is refusing to remedy the situation in good faith. They will then fight for you.

Otherwise... Record all your contacts, conversations and attempts at remedying the situation. Write what was said, by whom, and when, time of day, who else was present, etc. Then, I would go back one last time and attempt to get it fixed. Matter of factly let the OWNER know you're dissatisfied and will only accept replacing the tint period. State that failure to do so will cause you to do the following: file complaints with any and all business associations, BBB, state and local licensing agencies and lastly that you will take him to small claims court and in addition to the cost to fix the defective installation that he will be responsible for your legal cost when he loses. Additionally, let him know that you plan to exercise your first amendments rights and park outside his business, letting potential customers know how great a job he does and how he stands by his product!

Simple! Just be ready to follow through and have to pay someone who KNOWS how to tint properly, you will probably have to go that route, gt that documented as well. I've tinted all my vehicles and there's NO bubbles, period! Any bad tint would easily be replaced and have always been assured that by any installer I've had do the work but was never needed.

just sayin...

Good luck!
