Bad fuel mileage

I havent measured properly and I will but..... It seems as though im getting 17mpg on a 05 gtp. Doesnt that seem a little low? New plugs and wires. Could a restrictive CAI possibly cause this also? I do have somewhat of a heavy foot but Im sure no more than the average person. I dont get into boost at every stop thats for sure.

Hey, where abouts in Canada?

If you have poor fuel economy, I would first be looking at the air filter. Make sure its clean and in good shape. What kind of fuel are you running (brand and octane). When you installed the new plugs, did you gap them correctly?
You could deff try Seafoaming the engine. Check/adjust your tire pressures...if your still running your winter tires, take them off, put your summers back on, I dont think we are going to see too much more snow.

NGK wires and Irridium plugs with proper gaps, winter tires are off and new tires have reccomended PSI within .5, air filter looks ok just may be an issues with restriction on the tubing. Thought about seafoam and have a can just dont know the proper procedure on doing it.... brake boother method, gas tank or oil.

To be honest if you don't watch your driving at all, 17mpg average sounds about right. Some gas saving tips have been mentioned... additionally you can check to make sure the o2 sensors are working properly if you have a DHP, HPT or even an OBDII scanner. I wouldn't worry that anything is wrong until you either throw a code or distinctly smell unburnt fuel coming out of the exhaust.

Im at 17-18 being very friendly to my GS. For real tho guys does spark plug gaps affect gas mileage that much. I know its needed for good performance but MPG's???
