• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Bad coolant elbow

They might not know how best to do them. I had an admin on a 3800 board once pull the LIM and UIM back off a car to replace an elbow. I said, "or you could have taken this one thing off". It was not a happy day for that guy.

Take that link and maybe give it a try. Or take that to them, say "BillBoost says it takes less than an hour for anyone." One hour of labor plus $4 elbows from the parts store and coolant.. poof.

I just did mine. Started losing coolant a couple of weeks ago and gradually got worse. I thought it was the water pump at first, but closer inspection revealed the leakage was coming out of the intake/elbow joint. Dorman/HELP makes metal ones now, part no. 47065HP. $12 a pair at Advance Auto. The job was fairly easy as such things go. The only difficulties were getting the broken plastic ends out of the holes, and getting the air bled out afterward. It's all good now.

I pulled mine out and broke them when I did my rockers, replaced them with metal. Pulled them off again to do my I/C, no problem, they went right back in. metal FTW!
