Don't be that guy. That race was for pretty big money if I recall. I'm sure the guy could afford to lose a bet.And it was stock vs stock. I'd put money that the cobra would hold it's own against the 458 in braking and cornering too, especially for 50yo technology.

I'm not trying to be "that guy". I agree, he could probably afford to risk it and I figured they were stock to stock, just the fact that after the prep race they acknowledged there was a 8/10 of a second different but still raced head to head.

Unfair odds IMO.

But a bet is a bet.

Usually there is a head start for the slower car but the tree times down the same for both. Not fair and not surprised by the outcome. I hope the bet wasn't for money, if so the Ferrari got cheated.

I'd take the Cobra over the 458 any day.

The maintenance on a side oiler is minimal, just check valve lash and go beat on it. They are stout. The Ferrari on the other hand prefers spontaneous combustion over internal combustion.

Went to a monthly car show this morning called Coffee and Cars. It is pretty big and there is a little of everything (not always a good thing). Here are a few of the pictures I took.

This is my buddies Z06. It looks stock, but isn't under the hood. It has a cam, head work, FAST 102 intake, modified LS2 throttle body, tune, etc. I think it put down over 430 to the wheels when he had it tuned.

Ill put it out of its misery, or my bro will. He will just run that think over with our SUV when it cant out run our SUV. Lol
 
Went to Flashlight Drags and took some pics.

The ratrod was just cool.




The Eclipse is my friend's car. He's run 10's several times, but has just done a few more things and is capable of 9's now



The Viper is twin turbo and total badass. It supposedly makes over 1500 hp
