Back In The Game -- 08 GP GXP

Haven't been active in quite sometime, use to have a 99 GTP and sold it about 3 years ago..

Currently driving an 06 Mustang GT with 62k miles but getting ready to part ways with it.. Recently my Fiancee and I decided it was time to start working on a family. Being that I need to get a bigger car, only I didn't want to go back to having a slow car that was boring... My solution? 2008 GP GXP in Crimson Red.

Here she is...

Thanks it's taken alot of thinking and discussing with the future wife, hell she doesn't even want to see me sell the Mustang but some point in life you gotta make sacrifices. I'll miss the car but I know in the end she'll be happy I made this decision.

These car prone for transmission issues??

Very.

Might want to research before diving in.

The aluminum block and tight spaces make for quick meltdown status.

Just thought I'd share my Mustang...
Currently has SLP exhaust, BBK 62mm throttle body Ford Racing CAI, Ford Racing lowering springs, 2014 GT wheels.

I'm going to look into getting a warranty so if anything happens I'll be covered

I'd get a tune, transmission cooler, and a shift kit done at the minimum when you pan drop it and change the filter.

Downpipe is also another decent restriction...for whatever reason they stabbed the u-bend back in the GXP.

New lower mounts and a poly upper will help quite a bit, too.

I used MotoSnoop for my history reports but recently they for some reason haven't been showing any detailed info. MyCarfax Garage would show as well but all I see is general maintenance. Looks like the previous owner would only take the car to a GM shop to have any maintenance done. Don't see any trans work though so idk.

At 104 and new to me I would change plugs, coolant(flush and fill), tranny fluid and filter (have never done a shift kit but would) find the cabin air filter and change. Reg air filter.

I've only got 70k on my '05.

It's needed inner/outer tie rods, a rack, a power steering pump, new battery, new battery signal switch or whatever the hell it is on the terminal cable...a new transmission, new motor/trans mounts, and tires.

Since these things like to eat them up.

But I mean, now it runs like a top :)

Get a tune. Have the tuner disable DoD. The tune will also help the life of the transmission. I've had my 08' for 4 years and it's been great. I did replace the trans with a TEP unit just because I wanted to address a weak point. My stock trans was still in good shape at 108 k.
