• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Back from Atco. Good and bad news........again

Well good news and bad news. Good news is I ran 10's. So happy about that. Bad news is on next past, I broke input shaft again. Wheels spun and once wheels grabbed, snap. I will work on the trans over the winter.

Perfect weather for racing. Was in the high 40's

First run, ran a 11.11 @ 122.99 1.75 60'. Was super lean. Had same tune in from May when it was 90*. Made some adjustments.

Second run, ran a 10.99 @ 121.99 1.74 60'. I need to get my 60 down. Car felt strong. Felt like a rocket. Much more in it. Might need to adjust top end AFR since weather was much cooler and MPH was down from my 11.06 run back in May.

Third pass, wheels spun then grabbed, broke IS shaft.

Pissed because it wasn't crowded so I could have gotten 5-6 runs in. Just put my wheels back on to get towed. Wasn't going to put GP back together since I wasn't driving home.

I will be fixing the IS. I do have to decide what I want to do. I was going to stop racing once I hit 10's. I just don't want to go out this way especially since the GP can run an 10.7

At least I get to change my license plate. LOL

i love and hate you so much right now. congrats are in order but you beat us to 10's

i know we are good to 10's if we can ever keep the damn trans together.

we got 70ft before we were done for the season...at least we got to the 1/2mile event...

i found a solution to the tcc issue on non Oring groove equipped shafts thats pretty cheap. im actually about to ship everything off to Terry at precision. i did tell him to keep all the info as there would likely be others interested.

Well I have to decide what to do as IS goes. Which one I want to get.

Also I wanted stop racing once I hit 10's but I didn't want to go out like this. I also don't want to break another IS. The GP will be put back together either way.

what I don't understand is why zzp advertises that their 300m is good for 1000hp. obviously it isn't and neither is the dynotech. what are the big dawgs doing about the trans?

I believe it doesn't matter which shaft you have. If you get wheels spin and once the slicks grab it shocks the shaft causing to snap. I could be mistaken if a better shaft is installed.

Wasn't there a shaft rated 800hp? Is that what you snapped?

Congrats on the 10 barrier being broken!!! Bittersweet for sure!

Congrats on 10's Sal !! I'm sure you'll figure something out as far as input shafts go.

Don't go out like that :)....new goal of 10.75? Then you can say you're done racing it lol.

yeah i hear ya there, 4 years we've been sorting out issues and fixing things...with the fresh trans we were soooo psyched to get to 10's....nooooope lol
at this point once the Armet/converter go back in we'll stick to the dyno till all the other parts are on and installed...then go nuts

believe it or not at the slip/hook his converter lost/gained load so for a moment the turbine may have freewheeled then under load the sprag locks up and suddenly your multiplying tq...ALOT, enough to shear the IS.

We searched till we found one of the 1200hp GMR Armet 100 input shafts and are modifying the converter for the Oring groove.
the Armet material is much more ductile than the standard steels and more fracture resistant so its able to flex down its length to absorb the shock loading.

we shredded the sprags of two "500hp" converters before we stepped up to the billet...the sprags got hammered enough that they just slipped...

I believe it doesn't matter which shaft you have. If you get wheels spin and once the slicks grab it shocks the shaft causing to snap. I could be mistaken if a better shaft is installed.
nah thats about it. we make tons of tq and all it takes is a shock load. hell ive been wanting to go to a 28x9 or 28x10 wrinkle wall to get the sidewall to absorb some of the shock.

it aint easy being a big dog lol

Here's an offer for you guys, since everyone is down at the moment. I have a set of Mickey ET Drags on lightweight 15" rims, mustang bolt pattern 114.3 x 5.

They are sitting here doing nothing. If someone wants to toss $50 for beer plus shipping at me or come pick them up for $50 you can have them. I know the rims are well worth that as long as you haven't upgraded the brakes to something that won't fit under them.

GMR Badass has already called dibs!

Well looking at my scans from the track, I was leaning out on the TOP end. I was running out of fuel. Most likely due to the cooler weather. Back in May it was HOT and fuel was good. Being that the PT sucks at looking at logs, I couldn't see it at the track.

I'm going to need to raise up the BAP more. If anything I'll need bigger injectors.

If you are having problems with input shafts you should look at going to a bigger softer tire. Get some 28x15s on there if you havent already, and make sure they are the soft wall without tubes. Also make sure you run a bias ply rear tire.

Congrats man! This has been a long time coming for you! I seriously don't know how you do it. After breaking the second transmission I bought a GTO and couldn't be happier. Now the GP just collects dust in the garage and takes up space.

I'll get in line as well just in case it happens to fall through.
