Heh, the prior owners of these headlights had that pretty well down pat. They had weather stripping all around these headlights. I've removed some from the top of one, but the other still has all of it. They're sitting in there pretty tight. Thanks for the tip, though!

Baha, I try not to be a moron most of the time, too.
One time, my dad was cleaning his truck, and he had a cinder block nudging a twig up against the fog light lens he had just glued back on, and when I asked why the block and twig were there, he said "Because you have to ground the truck about 13 hours before taking a long trip"
I almost thought he was serious. LOL!!

My dad had me thinking electronics worked on smoke for a few years when I was a kid. He had me stripping old dot matrix printers when I was 5 (to learn, the child labor was just an added benefit) so I didn't catch on until I was 7 or so. During those 2 years I genuinely thought there was smoke inside all electronics, lol.

I once smoked a blender making peanut butter. Yep, once that magic smoke comes out, it's all over. I paid for it to be rebuilt, too.

Well, the wheels got painted with a couple cans of spray bomb:
Dad came out and gave a very slick final coat for the wheels, as it was my first time really ever touching a spray paint can. We'll look at them later in the basement and see if they need a little more paint. The tape's not off yet.

Looks good! I use spray paint nearly every day. Just a little tip, first coat I put on light, where it's not even covering the base color. Then the next 2-4 coats are medium thickness, trying to cover evenly, not dry, just wet enough to get good coverage. Last coat is where I put it on thick, just shy of it wanting to run. Then let it dry at least 24 hours before touching it. Also try to keep the can warm, you will get better atomization. When it's a little cool I'll hit the can with a hair dryer.

Thanks for the tips bandook! Interestingly enough, the first coat that I applied was pretty thin, then moderately applied for three additional coats. I'll keep the heat tip in mind when I use it again.

Like. I mean I have not liked TS if all black, but this looks better. I'd clear the whole wheels now, to make maintainence easier.

I'm currently at the shop getting the good tires mounted on my newly painted wheels; the tires on the TS's were shot, so they're getting switched. And I'm getting my sister's car inspected now, too alongside that. I tell ya, I didn't know one of these cars could take eight tires at once! LOL! Tires for days!

I also got the Daytona tips on, gotta get a better pic than the dark one I have. Me loves those darker halos!

Axel: Just Motorin' Along...
Well, it's been a year since the last post, and not much else has changed...
That's how he looked back in November last year. Nothing's been done to the outside or inside in terms of upgrades.
I've just been driving the crap out of it going to and from college with no issues whatsoever. Well, there was a little issue with oil consumption, but I replaced the valve cover gaskets and the grommets (Not at the same time, though), and it's still going through oil. I just had to come to terms with the fact that it was an older motor that would need to be rebuilt from the ground up to not go through oil at all. It still felt good to wrench on it for the first time in a while, though.
I also figured out that having a single climate control where a dual climate control module was before is a bit of a no-no if you want to have consistent temp. air between both sides. Heh, driver's side would blow fine with whatever temp you wanted, as long as it wasn't cold due to no charge in the A/C, but the pass. side would blow all the way hot. So, I went to the junkyard just before coming back down to the college and found a dual climate control in great shape. I still need to install it, though.
Additionally, with our last trip up to MI to visit family, we brought home a....Buick Regal GS.
Guys, meet what was Grimace. Not only does he have a supercharged series II, he's also got another one...
in the trunk.
Both engines need work, but Dad and I might be able to get one engine out of the both of them.
Who knows where that engine will end up?
I've still got all of the panels and pieces to make this car look like a Special Edition Grand Prix, but all I'm missing at this point is the Roof Rails. Anybody got a pair of good rails for sale?
