Aux input factory radio

I recently purchased the aai gm12 and my boyfriend installed it. I have the 6cd changer with a cd/aux button but no xm. So when I press the cd/aux button it just plays the cd. What can I do? I saw on an rx8 forum that possibly the audio from the adapter can be picked up if I play a blank wav file, this is me trying to be optimistic. Anyone know how to get into a programming mode on the factory stuff to try and activate the aux option? Ugh! Help!

Just to be clear. In order for the aai gm12 device to work u have to have an external slave unit. Such as XML radio or an external CD changer. It doesn't use the cd/auxiliary button. It uses that switch that came with it to override the slave device

Sent from my pager using Morse code. ... .. ... ....

i've been looking to put a AUX in my radio. I don't have XM though. is that possible? I have no after market sound in my car yet. Just like everyone has said, transmitters suck and my radio can play mp3 CDs but i would love to get an AUX port in it some way or another. any ideas or suggestions?

Schmidty, from the sounds of it if you have the same 6 disc changer I have the answer is no. However, I am taking my car in to have the remote start I got for xmas installed and while there I plan to very thoroughly investigate my options, which at this juncture looks to be getting a different (not stock) cd player installed that will allow my aai gm12 to work, which in reality if I have the aux input I won't need a 6 disc changer. Meh. I'll keep yall posted.

i just found this write up last night. looking for a aux hook up for the regal. How you can add an aux input/mp3 player without an adapter - LS1TECH

if you read through all 27 pages, around page 25 i think, they talk about using wires 4 and 5, and that jumps the radio signal. vs the cd player. best part is if it dont work, all it takes two wires to be soldered back together and it back to normal.

im thinking of popping my radio out and seeing if my guts look the same or close enough to try this.

i might just put in a different 7" radio with screen. one with a usb/aux and all that jazz. get one from best buy and have geek squad install for free. or is geek squad not a good way of doing things?
