audio buttons on 98 gtp steering wheel question

The buttons on the left side of the wheel were not working, so I pulled the butons out of the wheel to see the connector was not connected. How in the world to you connect the connector, there is very little play, I know how to plug it in, but the wire is so short, it wont pull out far enough to connect the buttons again? Any thoughts?

Luck my friend had same issue I put some cardboard behind it and pushed so good luck

Pull the cord - it will give you adequate play.

I've had these buttons off and on many times - they're kind of a pain, but not that bad.

The wires are taped under the airbag. Like mentioned if you gently tug, you should be rewarded. If not.. needle nose pliers.
