attempting coolant flush

hey guys i have read a few threads on this so im fairly confident i cal pull it off. just bought a 97 gtp supercharged, and noticed it has dex-cool which has alot of goopy residue in it. i will be switching to peak G05 as soon as i get it flushed out.

i will be attempting a thourough coolant flush, i bought the kit, the prestone coolant cleaner and have a hose ready to use.

what im wondering is,

A. where is the best place to put the T. i have heard putting it on the heater hoses works well to flush the block. the heater has 2 hoses an in and an out i assume (lol) does it matter where i put the fresh water hose or as long as its in an elevated position its ok.

b. i will be opening the radiator hose at the bottom , and i have read here that i should also open the knock sensors to get a thourough block flush. anyone have a description of where this/what to look for as i cant find any mention of it in the manual.

c. when i first drain the dex cool and start pumping clean water through, should i start with the engine off and turn it on a bit to clear the water pump, havnt seen anything on this.

thats all really, not sure if i want to start this operation untill i have a better grasp of these 3 things. any help is greatly appreciated.
