Okay before you EVER read this! If your a atheist im sorry if this offends you..if your a christian and this upsets you (i doubt it does!) i am sorry! If your a Jew im sorry! I found this VERY funny and thought alot of you guys would too!!!

In Florida , an atheist created a case against the upcoming Easter and Passover Holy days. He hired an attorney to bring a discrimination case against Christians, Jews and observances of their holy days. The argument was that it was unfair that atheists had no such recognized days.

The case was brought before a judge. After listening to the passionate presentation by the lawyer, the judge banged his gavel declaring, "Case dismissed!"

The lawyer immediately stood objecting to the ruling saying, "Your honor, how can you possibly dismiss this case? The Christians have Christmas, Easter and others. The Jews have Passover, Yom Kippur and Hanukkah, yet my Client and all other atheists have no such holidays."

The judge leaned forward in his chair saying, "But you do. Your client, counsel, is woefully ignorant."

The lawyer said, "Your Honor, we are unaware of any special observance or holiday for atheists."

The judge said, "The calendar says April 1st is April Fools Day. Psalm 14:1 states, 'The fool says in his heart, there is no God.' Thus, it is the opinion of this court, that if your client says there is no God, then he is a fool. Therefore, April 1st is his day. Court is adjourned"
 


Well I don't think it's funny but I am agnostic :S But if I was an Atheist I wouldn't take offense to this at all because there are many MANY jokes on both sides of the tracks. But I think this joke might start a battle between Atheists and Religious people and I don't want that to happen :P I have seen it before and it creates a wake of awkward on the rest of the forum :) Just my 0.2 and sorry if I didn't find it funny lol

Ya, I understand. I dunno I guess I feel as though everyone on here is "mature" enough but if ya think it will cause problems how do I take it down? I have nooo clues
 
Well I know the people here are mature but it only takes one bad guy to spark a big arguement as we saw from the Acura :P
 
well I thought it was funny, curious though why an agnostic would take offense too it but think it would not offend an athiest? (In all seriousness)
 
lol im not religious and still thought it was funny. i dont see why anyone would take offense to it, its just a joke.
 


Well I really don't wanna start anything or offend people. So I believe they are going to "lock" this thread. sorrryyyyy
 
I make no secret of the fact I am a devout Christian, so of course I find this funny. However, the OP contacted me and said that they had concerns if it was the right thing to post up. While Im okay with it, I am not a religious fanatic (though some people equate and lump the Charismatic, Word of Faith people in there with the fanaticism) that so often gives my faith a bad name and puts the wrong light on it, and I am respectful and flexible enough that if anyone is bothered by this I will take it down.

So, if anyone takes offense to this just let me know. I will be respectful of either side, either way.
 
well, I would like to hear a reply from 1998xGTP before its locked as I am genuinly curious, but other than that, I don't care either way....and I guess he could PM me vs posting here if someone wants it locked/hidden

I agree about the "Acura guy".... he was just out looking for trouble. I do find it amusing being a Christian myself. Most members are opinionated (myself being one), but aren't going to start a "im right, your wrong" argument. It takes one bad apple to spoil the whole bushel.

I found it funny myself. If someone wants to take offense to it, Heck, just fire back with another joke. That way everyone gets their laugh and like all threads, it will eventually fade out.

Normally I would agree with you but then you get another dynamic involved, personal emotions. That person takes offense and so they decide to post another joke and they find one that has a personal twang to it for the one that posted the joke they took offense to and before you know it theres fur flyin, claws a scratchin', teeth a bitin' and Admins and Mods having to step in and do unpopular things because by then everyone has chosen a side and if you dont come down on there side then you are just the most evil thing since Satan himself.
