• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

nah, there's a balance there. if that were true then running a 1:1 ratio would be the best. for top speed runs you'd want a lower gear ratio, but for quarter mile runs you can put higher ratios in it, it helps you get up to speed quicker but will top your car out earlier

Right. Just like most drag setups run a higher ratio...such as 4.10 or 4.56 gears. Most street cars will run a 3.55, 3.73, or some even a 3.93. Were talking RWD V8 cars though...

idk i just saw it on one of the site that makes transmissions for the 3800.

Triple Edge Performance?

well sh!t, that makes sense. i read your post wrong, for some reason i thought you meant you'd get slower with a higher ratio. that's what i get for being on here at like 3am. a 3.29:1 setup is going to run faster than a 2.93:1 setup, but if you go any higher than probably a 3.69:1 ratio in a grand prix, you'll probably start getting slower just because the car would be going through the powerband too quick and be shifting more often.

um you did read it right...intense says that moving from 2.93 to 3.29 will REDUCE ET and MPH by 1.

i really dont know, im just trying to prove i actually read it somewhere and im not pulling it out of my ass.

reducing is getting faster though. so by saying that it's reducing times, you'll go from like say a 14.3 to a 14.2, which is better. it's like golf, the lower the better
