Anyone use Zinc Spray?

I was wondering if anyone has used zinc spray on A hidden open metal part of their car. I know on modern cars they galvanize the whole body of the car which is basic chemistry but shouldnt you be able to just spray the zinc in that area and it be fine. I have rust on the rear quarter panel where the bumper meets the fender.
