but speaking of which, u can do anything with the right mechanic and parts...lol well maybe if u swap the engine and just use the body :D

We're selling our 00' Red GTP.

I actually owned an RX-8 for about two days before I blew the clutch, go figure. It's not as slow as you'd think with that rotary engine. It would take your Bonneville and probably a GTP but if your talking about an M6 BMW not many cars can mess with that.

went 3 wide the other nite vs a RX-8 and a Scion TC (Injen Sticker on side window)

Beat them both... hands down, utterly destroyed the TC. RX-8 was a couple of car lengths back... probably an auto. Gave me the thumbs up afterwards. TC disappeared.... never saw him again and I slowed to the speed limit.

Interesting story, saw a RX-8 Tubro (heard it's loud a** spooling, then pfffffffft as it passed me) race a Lincoln LS V8 that had a body kit. RX-8 won by about 2 cars lengths. Unfortunately, and lucky for me I was in the volvo and not the Daytona, a cop flew out of the local lanes got up behind them both, and only pulled the RX-8 over. Lincoln drove off. About 30 seconds later saw him instigating with another car. I'm thinking "this guy is a moron, lucked out by not getting pulled over for street racing, and continues to do it a few seconds later." Car didn't run with him but I did catch up to him and noticed something crazy. POLICE TAGS!!! Also the blue and red light in his rear window. I couldn't believe it so I asked my friend who is a cop about it. He didn't give up much info about what I saw except that after the May 2006 street racing tradgedies in Maryland that took the lives of over 30 teenagers, that something needed to be done to cut down on street racing. I guess it took them a long time implement rules of enagement or something cuz it's over 2 years later. He's one of those guys that takes his job really seriously, btw.

Another buddy of mine does maintenance on the cop cars and said occasionally they get a Toyota Camry Undercover car in... very interesting

Wow that's amazing, smart cops lol. We have a regular Charger here, along with a Vette, a Camaro and a Mustang all undercover. Believe it or not I've seen Chevy Uplander Van's as cops and a full size Suburban with normal plates that was a cop too. Crazy stuff man makes me scared to drive :P.
 
well here we have undercover grand prix's...obviously the newer GXP's but first time i saw a car like mine then with blue lights, i freaked out....probably was last year somtime since then i've seen a silver one, and burgandy
 
I can understand the LS-V8.. it's american, but the Camry isn't. I don't think they are going after speeders in them... Not 100% on this but I think they are used undercover for prostitute, drug stings, etc... Reasonable guess?
 


Ran into this dude a few days ago at the bar who had an 04 mazdaspeed rx-8. Came with an intake and front and back stb bars along with some extra trim and bigger spoiler from the factory. The intake was chrome and it went all the way down to the front of the radiator. Looked bad***. He said it was pretty quick but acknowledged that the handling was what he would rather brag about. He also told me that 2 weeks after he got it he was racing his brothers turbo civic and at 115mph he blew a coil or something. Apparently the guy in his mazda forum told him it wasnt uncommon?? I guess a good tune for that car is like 700$ also.
 
haha lol...it lookd like it was good on handling...my friend used to have a honda civic, he would wail that thing 120mph around some pretty sharp curves, curves that my GP could only take about 90mph...O and for the record, we arent friends anymore lmao
 
I know I'm late getting into this thread, but I'm in the process of moving so internet is here and there.... About runnin an RX-8... I raced one from a dig and a roll that was turboed at 7lbs of boost and smoked his doors off. All I have is short ram intake and u-bend and ressonator delete. They can be risky from a roll, just cuz our trannies are slow to downshift, and have long gears, but even at high speeds, the supercharger tends to help catch back any distance you've lost.
