• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Anyone (recently) bought and installed SD headers?

Doing a search, they seemed sketchy on when they were bought if the headers were decent or not. Seemed at some point they switched to a SSAC copy and the headers were crap.

Anyone bought and installed them recently care to comment? Don't want to waste the $240 to purchase garbage

Lots of people here use SD headers, they require some extra effort to get them to fit without hitting anything like massaging the firewall so the 02 doesn't hit against it but its not too hateful that and the flex can go bad but it seems to be a hit or a miss. Another con is they have this ubend/pipetrap in the downpipe, not really a restriction but it hangs kinda low.

Not my pictures but shows what i mean.

Cool thanks for the quick replies. Going to order a set here in a few. Hopefully they aren't a huge ***** to put in... starting to get cold out!

I bought and installed mine about 4 weeks ago. I was actually kinda surprised by the quality considering the price. The firewall/footwell clearance was the hardest part. About a half hour of pounding with a large ball peen hammer got be this:

I also had to trim some length from the front header collector, and the rear of the crossover. About a half inch from each. Some will say you don't need them, but I highly recommend using band clamps. I ordered mine from Jegs. FWIW, the "Jegs" brand were actually stamped "Torctite."

i also installed a set not to long ago.

getting the stock crap off is more work then getting the headers on is.

my o2 was hitting the fire wall good so i plugged the hole and moved the o2 to the cross over pipe. if you have this done, put the rear header in, then the pipe in, put a x where you want the o2 in the clear. no need for a o2 extention if you move the o2.

If you don't want to mess with pounding the firewall for 02 clearance you can have an 02 bung welded in the crossover for it especially if you dont have them on the car it would be cheap maybe 30 bucks tops and thats pushing it. Scottydoggs just had his moved to that location without any ill effects.

That's slick. I was contemplating having extra bungs welded in to move the 02 and for a WB. Any chance of ill effects though on the crossover only taking reading from one bank?

2 of each.

2, 2.5's for the cross over, and 2, 3 inch for the down pipe. i got a torctight for 10 bucks at napa. the rest are the flat band clamps, they work just fine too.

I just replaced the 2 band clamps on the crossover last week after finishing my rebuild. I bought 2 1/4 inch
