Anyone raced a newer E550 Benz? (2010+)

Spent the weekend at my local decomissioned airport out here in Brooklyn burning a **** ton of nitro and gas with some rc cars. We had 3 guys drag racing, an SRT8 Charger/ G37/ E550. I actually wanted to line up with them to see out of curiosity how I'd hang with the SRT, but I had all my gear out and didn't want to risk getting caught as theres a lot of cops around there.

Anyways on my way out of the airfield, the E550 driver was leaving the same time as me. He guns about a car length away, I let him get even and floor it at about 35, I reel him in by 60-75 and by 90 I have less than half a length on him.

We did one more roll at around 45, I bogged a bit cause of the ****ty gearing- but the same thing happened and he stopped pulling at 95.

I'm pleasantly surprised, those cars are low-mid 13 sec with just under 400hp. I've got TOGs, full 3" exhaust, 1.9 rockers, 42.5lb injectors, 3.4 pulley, zzp pcm with an uber rich tune, and an HAI. Not bad for a $1500 beater vs a $60k luxury sports sedan.

Ha funny you should mention that, I've got an aem uego just sitting around from my Fiero. I bought the car exactly as it is 2 months ago, all I did was clean it up some and debadge it/ replace the master cyl and rear calipers. I can't scan with my DHP tuner because apparently ZZP uses HPT and I think their tunes are locked? Anyways when I have time to mess with it, I'll hook up that wideband. I need a stock PCM soon though so I can start from scratch and tune it properly, this thing eats through gas right now- 14 city/ 17-20 highway. It smokes on start up (not oil) and can smell a solid amount of gas while idling (not an exhaust leak). The PO told me he sent the pcm back to zzp at least 3 times and each time it was always messed up.

Damn!! I just remembered that I bought dual aeroforce scan gauges around a month ago haha, I suppose I'll hook those up and see whats going on. I wonder if I'm getting any KR too. D'oh!!

E550's are decently quick. -- He must have not turned off the electronic nannies though.

I understand that it would be a big factor from a dig, but why would it matter in roll racing? Unless the trans shifts like a retard from the factory unless its in sport mode or something :D. I have no experience with those cars so I really am curious.
 
nice kill. how was the outcome of the srt8/g37/E550. assuming the srt8 took them both unless the g37 was modded a bit

I actually got a video of one of their races, too lazy to upload it to youtube lol. The SRT8 consistently left them behind in 2nd, he couldn't launch for crap though. All cars appeared to be bone stock. The E550 driver was also an epic fail, the G37 would always get the jump and then get reeled in as soon as the SRT could find traction and start pulling. The E550 only ran twice and the first time he launched like crap and didn't even finish getting through 2nd before letting off, the 2nd time it was too far for me to tell what was going on.

Regardless, no more racing for the time being as my supercharger "popped" while doing accelerating at WOT today. Not sure whats going on yet, I posted a thread in the L26 tech section.
