i have 2 10 in digital designs subs rated 450 rms...i have a memphis 500watt D class amp pushing them with gain turned up a lil over half way...ive only had the speakers for about 3 months,everything was fine until a few days ago.one blew and the other blew tonight.i have a premier deck that displays volts in real time....im always around 13volts at any given time.i didnt really have it up that loud when they blew...i had 2 10 in MTX that were less of quality than these i have now...i beat those speakers for 4 yrs and nuttin like this ever happened. :confused:
 


are you absolutely positive they were hooked up right? if they were connect CORRECTLY, then maybe just cheap made subs?

I don't see any reason why they should have blown, ur amp should have been fine pushing that rms

yea they been workin fine since i had them installed...i had the shop i buy all my stuff from do complete install.....theyre def not cheap subs.Digital Designs are up there with rockford and JL
 
I would go over and check your wiring something may have shorted out and gave a little jolt to your amp,then passed on to your subs.But really who knows.
 
part if the problem is the gain on the amp was not set correctly. you should use a voltage chart. setting the gain half way quarter way means nothing. the gains puts out voltage which turns into watts. btw DD is way past rockford and jl. even though they are 450 rms with the correct box and tuning they will take a hell of alot more than that.

DD wants 120.00 to recone both subs...so im guessing get that done and get tuned.i forget the name of the box...but heres a pic. By the way...when these things were hittin right...it was unbearable at times at loud volumes.

yeah those are monsters. if your by me i can tune your amp for you. i will also try to post up my voltage chart.
 
yup. just follow the instructions on there. also what is you electrical system? extra batts, ho alt?
 
actually just stock as it sits now...its been fine powering my 500D...thanks for the chart by the way....at first i was like :confused: but after i looked over it, it looks like a really simple project. i know pushing another 500 ill have to do something as far as a power source.
 


if you add a kinetik 1400 in the back you should be fine. in my truck i have 2 1500 watt amps and 5 batteries. the more you have the better your stereo will perform and the less th elights will dim./
 
well after a few phone calls i got DD to agree to recone both subs for 120 shipped,also found out that they took 70% of the trophys for the world finals this year.
 
is there any video of that car that u know about? ive seen some of steve meades videos,dudes shiit is sick.and DD has one louder?
