• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Anyone excited for Skyrim?

Game runs like poop with settings turned up on my 5760x1080 eyefinity setup.... I have to keep everything to medium or low settings wise to keep it running without chops.

I picked up some spyware and forgot to save off my lvl 20 guy I played for 2 weeks+.. I created a new character and I was lvl 18 in 2 or 3 evenings of playing, lol. Leveling via skill training is really easy.

noooooooooo i typed a thing now its gone....

Yes, its worth buying for PC for mods.

bugs everywhere, but its a bethesda game. what do you seriously expect?

steam recently released an update from bethesda that fixed the stability of skyrim.
the update before it locked the ram boost mod so you couldnt fix the game yourself.

Ha. Just noticed. Rage is a Bethesda Product too. Interesting. I guess i have a thing for them without even realizing it!

Bethesda makes amazing games cuz they put time into their games instead of releasing a game every year like the Call of Duty series.

im kinda glad they fixed the stability of Skyrim because it was makin me angry that my game would crash just about every hour and the lack of ram being used caused my computer overheat from workin to hard to keep up

its called modding. google skyrim nexus. 4gb fix has been available ever since the game was released. but now they finally patched it.

You guys serious?

Lack of ram?

I have never seen much more than a gig of usage.

I'm presently running high tex packs of all kinds among a few other things.

For fun I opened my heavily modded oblivion, Skyrim, and BF3.

I believe I was around 5-6 GB ram used out of 8 total.

So I one-upped my old weapons on Skyrim and created new one-handers to use. And yes, I'm in the Qasmoke area because I'm friggin' tired of running between forges and arcane enchanters.

I stacked and earned every strength bonus I could, started wearing lighter armor, and still wasn't strong enough to carry around all the stuff I needed at once to make these kinds of weapons happen. So I finally just edited my carry weight so I'd never have to worry about it again. Yep. I cheated to make that happen. However, the concept behind making these super strong weapons involves what I consider abuse of the in-game mechanics anyway. I stack pretty much every smithing bonus I can by enchanting a bum set of armor with +smithing while drinking enchanter's elixir, so in the end it all feels like cheating. I don't, however, cheat to get any of the materials, base enchants, or bonuses. All that was done the time-consuming way. So if you have a metric ass-ton of patience, you can do exactly what I did. Which in fact, I did one better, and will post a screenshot of that shortly.

EDIT: Here they are! The items following the weapon in the big screenshot are the secret (along with being 100 in one-handed and archery) to why I hit to freakin' hard. As a bonus, there's the bow I use, though I haven't tracked down a soul-stealing enchant in this particular round of the game. I'm on playthrough #2 if you're wondering. No I haven't completed all the content obviously. I'm trying to master the mechanics first. There will be more wifing, looting, pillaging, home-owning, adventuring, exploring, and resale coming soon I'd imagine.

Here's some links to where they're hosted so you can see the slightly bigger versions that make the text easier to read-

Also the bow that results from so many bonuses:

i have 8 gigs of ram and never had any stability issues on the game, on my ati 6870 or ati 6970, i would like to hear the hardware you have what your temps are(people tha are crashing)

I have the following:
AMD Phenom II X4 830 (Running at 3.507ghz overclocked)
MSI 880G-E45 Full ATX Motherboard
8gigs of (2x4) DDR3 1666 (Timing adjusted)
Sapphire HD5830 (Overclocked of course)

I run Skyrim, BF3, and every other game I own at near-max (On both Skyrim and BF3 I have MSAA off and AA at 16x).

As for any performance lag you might be experiencing, there's been some posts wandering around about people seeing a slight increase in performance after they turned hyper-threading off (seems in opposition of everything I know, but weirder things have happened).

Were you going for protection as well, or just strength? I read something like the max achievable armor rating was like 768 or something in that area.
