Anybody tried these brakes?

Well, since I have a set of blanks on the '02, and these goofy slotted and drilled things on the '01, and drive them both, I'd say my statement is valid. He asked for opinions, and I stated my experience. I would also venture to say I've forgotten more about any platform of automobile than you and 50 of your closest friends have so much as read.

On a more positive note, you made a wonderful decision not to gay up your car with those awful wheels. There, happy now?

Going back on this...how much would i benefit from doing the fbody 2 piston brake setup? Also what pads/rotors would i need for that...also any other little odds and ends i might need. Thanks guys.

I'd do C5 or C6 brakes IMO.

Smaller pistons result in better brake feel and because of the larger pad area help offset the ever increasing front brake bias.

You'd need the 98-02 Camaro front rotors (GM '12' inch rotors).

Drilled and tapped caliper brackets or sleeves IIRC.

Other option is 06+ Malibu/Impala front calipers.

They're two pot, larger pad and bolt right up.

How expensive and difficult are the c5 or c6 brakes...and are you talking z06 or non z06...im not sure if the z06 even has better brakes lol.

Used one of these kits (not this exact one) on my parents 03 1500 and they fit great and work amazingly. Braking is unbelievable with these now. I feel no fade or anything ever when I drive the truck.

Its there but not plugged in lol

I'm not sure about the GXP bolting up....

I would think so? You need 17" wheels though.

I want 18" saleen wheels so im good there. I'll do some searching to see if GXP brakes will bolt up but they're expensive lol.

Also, I'm pretty sure C6 brakes are mongo big...and need a big wheel to clear them. After the C5, GM changed the 'Vette to have better than Camaro brakes...especially the Z06. If I had unlimited funds to throw at this thing...I'd get some CTS-V brakes from 04-06.
