I'm looking at this one...
TRAXXAS E-Revo VXL (#7107) - Overview

I'd love to get the 1/10 but let's face it 750 plus tax for an rc car is expensive lol.

I don't know if any of your have seen the ProPulses they used to sell at radioshack. I have one of them with 2 motors on it and that little thing hauls ass. The antenna sodder ripped out of it like a year ago and i've never bothered to sodder it back on but I think im gonna do it this weekend. I forgot how much fun rc cars are lol.
Propulse estimated 30mph for the dual motors. The traxxas does 30 out of the box with a single motor and 50 with the dual battery pack...

I havde a few , nitro and also electric. Don't go with the small revo. Its small small, can't go over much. I got one for my son and ended up trading it for a slash. I have a stamped for my son also, its a great cheap truck but limited with 2 wheel drive. If I was you id consider even a e-maxx. It basicaly a t-maxx but instead of nitro motor its electric. But with it sharing platform with t-maxx that has been around since the begining of rc monster trucks there is a ton out there. Any traxxas you look at is going to be super easy to work on and 90 percent of hobby shops as well as pep boys stocks parts.

If I remember the 1/10 revo brushless with right lipo packs can hit 65-70 according to rc car action with stock gearing

look on craigslist, all the time people buy rc cars because they see vids and go "oh cool i want one" then they get one and play with it for a little and get bored with it

^^and you frequently see them for crazy low prices. It's like these people forgot how much they paid for it. A friend of mine bought a 3 month used 1/10 e-maxx brushless for $350 last year.

I had about $2500 into a T-Maxx once. Then I came to my senses and sold it. Never got back into the hobby after that.

Ive got a traxxas jato 3.3 ill sell cheap, it just needs a tune up basically(I think) I havnt driven it in 2 years lol. It does 65 out of the box.

I have no clue what the jato is. Is it nitro or electric? I want electric. Don't wanna have to mess around with nitro lol
EDIT: It's a nitro. But sweet mother of pearl. 0-60 in 4.2. Ha that's faster than the viper in tokyo drift lol. Damn it's tempting. And what do you mean by "tune up" I have no clue what i'm doing with nitro cars. :(

If you don't know what your doing with nitro cars don't buy used, just needs a tune up most of the time means they can't keep it running because there is no more compresion once it warms up. They run similar to a desiel motor were they compress till explode using a glow plug to start. You have to enjoy working on the car to enjoy nitro otherwise you'll get bored quick.

Nooooooo, it means I have no clue what im doing with RC cars either but I do have a hobbytown usa next to me that I can take it to. The car has at the most 2 hrs of run time on it, needs to be tuned because I havnt ran it in so long...probably just a glow plug. Needs new gas cause you cant run old gas in it. I will fix it first with video proof of it running great then sell it for $ half price of $200.

I'd rather just get the revo cuz i'm gonna want 4WD and I also want to drive it in the snow so it'd need to be waterproof.

I like nitro personally but thats just me. I like being able to run them for more then 15 min without having to recharge them but you can always get like 3 packs and solve that problem. Traxxas makes great trucks but u can find way cheaper ones then traxxas. Found a 1/10 scale nitro ready to run for like 170 bucks online it is a 4x4. My freind ownes 2 traxxas nitro trucks he is selling for 200 each both run perfect. He has like $1000 total into them.

I'm lookin at these... however i'm not exactly sure how to tell if the batteries would be compatible with the charger.

Here's the charger...it has LOTS of good reviews and I like that it doesn't need a seperate power suppply like some other chargers...also has a built in balancer for when charging lipos.
Hyperion EOS0606i AC/DC Balance Charger, Chargers, EOS0606i-AC-DC

And the lipo batteries. 60mph with about 36 minutes of runtime isn't bad. At least not to me...anyway here's the link:
LiPo 1800 3-cell 11.1v E-Revo VXL Pair, 1/16 E-Revo Packs, Lipo-1800-111-ERevo-Pair
That charger would be able to charge those batteries wouldn't it? I think it would just take a while since it says it's not great for 4s-6s lipos. I think mine woulnd be 6s right? I'm confused because some on the website have a number and then an "S". For example 2s or 3s. What confuses me is some say 2-cell or 3-cell or whatever.
The ones i'm looking at say 3 cell...the charger says 1-6 lipos.
IDK im just confused..help me lol!!
