• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Any way to suppress starting issue?

SubwayGuy

Who is this guy?
My issue is that if I start my car (or drive around) and then shut it off, come back in like 2 or 3 minutes and start it, it will start immediately. But it will jump up to like 1500rpm, then the car will compensate by lowering the RPM's, but it nearly kills it because it will go to like 300rpm and then jump back up and then settle out. There has been only one instance where I started it and it jumped way up, and then died from being too of RPM's. I'm curious as if there's any way to avoid this or at least make the issue a little better. It's pretty annoying. If I wait like 10 minutes, it won't do this.

Sounds like you need to clean the throttle body

I've cleaned the inside of the throttle body, but never took it off to clean the inside because I forgot there was coolant that runs through the TB. I think the issue is with my fuel pump because I know the check valve is bad, so it has to prime before it starts. And this issue only happens if I turn and start the key right away with no pause. So I guess I can turn and hold the key longer and see if it does it. Thanks for the reply.

a durr, its the back side that needs to be cleaned. the coolant that comes out is nothing. some will drip out, no big deal.

When I did my LIM and left the cables attached, it was very stiff and did not want to move. I don't want to break the lines or connections.

funny because with my cables attached I could throw it through the windshield if I choose to.

I'll leave them attached then. Yeah, my cables have no play or bend whatsoever. It made things tricky during my LIM lol.
