Any parts compatible with 3100?

Long story short, when my '00 Malibu [3100 engine] blew a head gasket last year, I ended up parking it out on my land. Scrap prices were so low at the time, it wasn't worth salvage yards coming to pick up. Drove the pickup full time while patiently keeping an eye out for a good deal on a solid, yet cheap, used car. Finally found a screaming deal on a black '01 GTP sedan w/ 150k miles. Paint/body kind of rough, but mechanically solid, just how I like 'em!

So, my question is: Can anything like starter, alternator, coil packs, plug wires, etc, be transferred over from the dead 2000 3.1L to the '01 L67 motor?

All four of those were replaced within 2k/mi of the Malibu giving up the ghost. Just wondering if that old turd can be useful once more as a (some?) parts donor.

Coil packs, yes they are the same design. Plugs wires, sure if they reach all the cylinders and they technically should.

Starter is a giant maybe, the 3.1 block may have different mount bolt holes than the 3800. Grab the part number from the starter or go online to a parts store website to see if the part numbers cross to both models.

Awesome, thanks. Good to know I'll have spares, since coil packs ain't exactly cheap. Neither was that starter, those have gone WAY up from what i remember. 180 for a mid-grade O'Reillys.

Plug wires, I figured the SC 3.8 might call for a different spec. Don't know much about the differences in core construction, and don't wanna screw anything up. But yeah, coil pack is mounted on the opposite side compared to the poncho. Don't see why they wouldn't reach though.
