The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.
I've got a 2002 pontiac grand prix. I'm planning on replacing the sound system, adding an amp with subs, and also adding in emergency lights (i work EMS). Any one got any suggestions? Advice? can be on what i plan to do or on what i should/could do.
yea but i was planning to supply the speakers and woofers and such to cut down on their price, so i was just wondering what the good brands are and how much they run
kicker is good for subs, they are fairly cheap and come in many sizes and models. you can beat the crap out of them without worrying about them blowing
Grab some used speakers that you've heard and enjoy or try some SPX-177a's by Alpine. I can't say why...most people enjoy their tweeter. It's similar to a Vifa XT25. Their mid is a wood pulp cone or something rather. Majority of people agree they're very "airy".
Clean power on the cheap?...Cadence Audio.
Sub...hrmmm. Stereo Integrity BM mkIII. Just because people seem to really enjoy it and if it were me I'd wanna find out due to it's size But a sub only covers ~2 octaves so as long as it plays transparent with my mids I can't say I'm real picky.
Anyways...you never gave us your goals or how big of a roll you tucked. I threw something out that should be below $1k
If you're on a budget grab some type R's off craigslist + the above mentioned. You can find those Alpine speakers if you're patient and look hard. I think I saw a new set sell for $200 a few weeks ago.
***REMEMBER**** If you want it to sound good then tuning and install are crucial. I'm sure Matt will provide some good feedback on that
