on another note. do any of you know of a shop that can tune a pcm? i fear zzp may have fallen off the wagon in their tuning department
 


Lol. Im looking to buy an EVO one of these days. I love my Prix but always wanted an Evo ;). There is a shop here in SFcalled Excessive Auto Sports; however, I have heard. . . Sketchy things about them. My friend and I tuned our own cars. lol
 
I've had my car tuned by them and several other friends also. No problems and great service with all our transactions. Heading there today to get another car tuned, 2001 mustang with cam only ls1 swap. They had a bad rep when they first opened up just like any shop. They go for the highest dyno numbers until they learned safer is better. Not to say they dont make alot of power with their cars. Recent dynos there 776 on a 5.3 single turbo with 16lbs in c10... and zo6 on 8lbs 816... The list goes on. My buddies and i all go there and they can tune ANYTHING import or domestic, doesnt matter.
 
There's also Dynotune in Watertown. I've heard nothing but good things about them, that's where my buddy takes his 1000+ hp turbo cobra.
 
My fiancee's home town is just north of yankton territory wakonda. And yep alive and active. Most days.

crappy. tuners are expensive and watertown is way up north. im not sure whats up with my tune. sometimes i get about ten degrees of knock. and only in second gear pushin 5 thousand rpm. sometimes theres none at all under the same conditions. its irritating. im hoping its the tune and not a wiring issue or a pissy injector. ....whats the cost on a tune at excessive auto by the way?
 
A lot lol depends .. if you have your own tuner I wanna say its 350... if you don't then its 450. Call them for exact pricing but generally that's it for most cars.
 
eh im gonna change my plugs and oil first. get a dynamat kit for the knock sensors. its mind boggling to me that it turned spring and suddenly im getting 10 degrees of knock at the top of second gear. but... i just corrected a lean condition so if im lucky its the plugs. then im gonna hafta to resort to tuning it. i guess i gotta retune sooner or later anyway. too bad money dont grow on trees!
 
-_- nevermind the tune. i fixed it. the ground came loose on my ignition control module. at high rpm that was spiking at 10 degrees kr. its good to know theres a shop close tho
 
Alright West River people, I want to get a meet set up some time here soon, but the only people that I know of that are in Rapid Right now are myself, Slowpoke and Frosty.
 


Oh I didn't know if you were back in Sioux Falls or not. But yeah that sounds like a plan.

We fixed it. His MAF scaler died and was sending 0 hz to the PCM. No code for it so it took some scaning and playing to find. he needs to buy a new scaler
then we are good.
