I'm puttin an offroad dp on my prix and i'm not going to lie, the 12 years of rust on those bolts look like they are going to be a ***** to pull off. secondly, when i go to swap out my mufflers, am i going to have to cut them off or are the mufflers clamped on? any advice on how to ease the process would be great, i spent 2 hours just pulling off the old exhaust tips and replacing them with new ones. Thanks

Lots of Pb blaster. Let it soak for a long time. I still striped 3 of the 4 bolts. I had to redrill holes for them. The mufflers are welded on I believe. Make sure to take your time get the socket seated on the nut good and have lots of penetration fluid.

About those slp mufflers, am i just missing it or is there no way to just purchase the mufflers? I went to slponline.com and I cant find the mufflers by themselves. I saw the bullet style which i believe is for the loudmouth on fbodies. Could you point me in the right direction and what's the approx. price?

also, what do you guys feel about descreened MAF sensors? I did it to my trans am and felt uneasy about it. I've heard from some people its restrictive and from others that its nothing that will make a noticeable performance gain by taking it out.

I had to have my bols torched ou of my 2000, as they didnt resemble bolts any more.

as for descreening the MAF. some people live by it, othes didnt. If it makes you feel uneasy...dont do it.

For an un-tuned car, a de-screened MAF may help you a little bit. If you plan on tuning or getting a boxed tune, don't do it!

And as far as mufflers... I'm quite fond of my lack of mufflers. Just make sure you carry the exhaust out from under the car or you'll get some nasty drone. The borla's do sound awful nice on these cars, though.

thanks fellas. havin' only a gt coupe, I'm not too interested in making an incredibly quick car but i'd like to do a few things here and there to wake it up. Perhaps a CAI, offroad dp, and maybe a pcm. just outta curiousity, why do all these places program your car to work better with premium fuel? are there any companies that can leave that part of the programming out for us gt guys? and just to throw this in there, what do you guys think about my car vs a civic si or integra si? any chance for a prix gt to beat up on mustang gt's? (i have a specific hate for mustangs being a previous trans am owner:D)
thanks again guys!!
