Antifreeze leak - Still Leaking - Not LIM - New Pics Sept 29 2012

Ok I overfilled the rad overflow - car didnt like it.

But have taken the pulley off the water pump, no leaks and looks new.

the antifreeze is near the crank pulley, and behind the engine on the subframe.

There is no leak behind the power steering pump, or alt, or on the intake - from the top of the crank pulley is really dry.

Any ideas???

Re: Antifreeze leak

Try tightening up the 10 mm bolts on the ends of the LIM and if they are loose then you need to change out the LIM gasket.

Re: Antifreeze leak

OK checked the overflow and no breakage - sat on counter overnight half full - water - no leak

Put it back in the car, fill to line with antifreeze/water mixture, and gone within a few hours.

And while the overflow was empty in the car for the past week, antifeeze in the rad stayed the same height.

And cant find any liquid on the drivers sine of the car. - the antifreeze is on the passside as in pic.

Makes no sense:th_scratchhead:

I need more ideas - and no bolts are loose on the LIM.

Re: Antifreeze leak

Ya checked, and no leaks - and no wet spots on top or sides of motor, its just a littl ewet near the crank pully and lower, thats it.

and i dont loose any antifreeze out of rad even with overflow empty.

Re: Antifreeze leak

get some engine cleaner and clean that whole area up and see what hits it down the road, this could just be old oil from who knows where down there.

Check under the thermostat, idk if that applies to the 3100, but full that up if you can't see fluid when you pop it off.

If that doesn't do it, just drain everything flush and refill. See if it still leaks.
