• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Another ricer down

yea we're also 10 years into the future now there's been a bit of research and development done in that time DUDE....mocking me

I really don't get this argument. The op beat a ricer, again, that's all that matters. Why are you dogging on his win / ride? Tell him good kill and move on.

You guys sure do stick together. :th_shakinghead2:

So 15+ second cars aren't slow? Wow what parallel universe did I wake up in this morning.

I swear I typed in grandprixforums.net and not some Honda forum URL...

YOUR GRAND PRIX GT IS SLOW. SORRY TO BREAK IT TO YOU. I HOPE YOU RECOVER FROM THIS SHOCKING REVELATION.

Gt isn't THAT bad, it's not fast but it's quicker than average. Topswap was a huge difference though. And I can still take GTs even with the blower belt off :p

10+ years ago? Yes.
Now? Nnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnno.

Everything newer is going to be faster. You can't base your opinion after that. That's what everyone, including me, have been saying in the first place. For a motor design being nearly twenty years old it's isn't slow for what it is. It doesn't post amazing times but there are thousands of applications even slower.

haven't we been over this stuff? gm put v8's in the cars they wanted to go fast, there's really no exception to that except for the gtp by a mild stretch of the imagination. this motor was designed when you still needed a somewhat large displacement to make horsepower. add 10 years or so of R&D, the n/a 3.8 gets a little more refined and makes a bigger hp number. along with gas milage, emissions, becoming more bulletproof, all that fun stuff. it was still a 3.8 V6 in a family sedan, and therefore not designed to go fast. it was made to get from point A to point B for the next 20 years or so and look sexy doing it. is it fast? eh... ish. but it's a byproduct. can it be faster, yeah, it's called the gtp. is that fast? eh... it's faster. are they faster than their competition? yeah, and that was by design. but were they made to be pontiac's sports car... no. neither one was desgined to do that. the trans am was made to go fast. therefore it has a V8. the gtp was just cheaper and has a backseat/trunk and is therefore not a toy.
