Hello everyone,

So yes i'm a noob to this forum and just bought my very first Pontiac.
I bought a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP Comp G over the 4th of July weekend and i must say this car is truly amazing.
It only had 82,500 miles on it and looks in very very good shape.
It does have a small oil leak somewhere ( I can smell burning oil and saw smoke when I test drove it)
I only agreed to purchase it because the dealer agreed to have that fixed. Other than that it runs beautifully.

I do have a few questions and no I have not researched these forums yet but will after this.
Q1: normal trans operating temp? I heard 275 deg max but what is normal?
Q2: Has the monsoon stereo and I see a AUX button but i dont see anywhere to plug anything in...such as my ipod or iphone.
Q3: What known/common issues should i be on the lookout for?
Q4: Where should the engine temp needle be normally? it went just over the half way mark yesterday for a mile or two then went just below half for the remainder of my 60 mile drive home from work.

Thanks

ok so should I be concerned on the trans temp?
Since I just bought the car I do not know when the last time it was serviced. I am dropping it off at the dealer today to have the oil leak fixed, I will ask if they will service the trans for me too.

Welcome to the forum! I'd love to answer your questions, but I have a 98 gtp and I don't know if the next gen grand prix has any similar problems to the previous gen like mine. Sorry!
