• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Found this site by doing some research on a 01 grand prix I found for sale. New to the FWD and v6 scene. Always have had V8 or I6 RWD. Ive been looking for a new DD thats decent on gas and has some power.

Welcome to the site. I haven't been here long myself.

You left out "and is reliable". The Grand Prix fits the bill perfectly. If it's a 2001 the motor was "hot tested" before it left the engine factory. As a result the quality and reliability is legendary if it was taken care of properly. The 3800 is probably one of the most decorated GM engines for quality based on the awards I seen hanging in the lobby at the plant.
As far as mileage, I see 25-27 hwy on my GT and 30-32 with my GTP, mainly the result of the gearing. GT's came with 3.29's and GTP's had 2.93's.

I know gearing plays a big roll in gas mileage. I am able to get 27-29 mpg out of my firebird with a v8 and has 2.77 gears.
