Another HUD issue

Let me start by saying I have already done a search of the forum and didn't find any answers that pertain to my problem

I have a 2002 Grand prix Gt

The hud works intermittently with no pattern to when, or for how long it works. I can be driving down a straight smooth road or sitting still and it can come and go. sometimes it will work for a short period othertimes it works a long time

when it does work I can adjust it up and down so i don't believe its the issue that i read a lot of the 2004's are having with the spring.

The readouts all work properly when the unit does work.

I have the exact same issue....where you able to fix this?
 
Key with knowing if this will likely work is ... does it only seem to be daytime when it goes out? The idea here is that the display thinks it's nighttime and dims enough so you can't see it. Then the solder joint might swell a bit and it works again for a moment becasue it doesn't dim.
 


This is the same thing mine is doing. happens day or night, no rhyme or reason. No harsh bumps causing it or anything like that - it's just moody beyond belief...
 
My Hud works all the time and it will dim with the knob but when it is up to its brightest it is still not very bright would this be the same issue?
