• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Android = Aeroforce

I'm currently using this program on my Droid Incredible. For whatever reason the KR use to spik to odd numbers like 11 and 14 (could be just sitting idle or what not). I have one of those odd adapters and mine is telling me the adapter is bad yet a few of the gauges work. The RPM gauge works but not the transmission temperature. After $30 for the adapter I'm not sure I want to get another one unless its the good kind. It does work to clear codes and what not. I love the idea of this program but the system as a whole doesn't work easily enough.

I've gotta disagree. I got the Kiwi adapter with a Droid X and the minute I hooked it up, it started working beautifully (minus the KR bit obviously). I'm not trying to be a dick, but it seems like your bad luck may have stemmed from you being cheap (which I can understand as most times I am as well).

Thanks for the dedication to make this work Ian

x2. You're awesome, man. If this works, I'll be making sure everyone I know has Torque...regardless of whether or not they own a car. :D

Hey Ian and fellow GPF'rs.
I realize this is my first post. I am a GM technician with a Prix and have been following the forums for some time. I boguht a cheapo ebay adapter and torque some time ago and I have to give Ian mad props. I bought Torque for my Cliq and had issues at start up and emailed him about it. Within 8 hours he had a fix on the market. Ive since bought the OBDlink BT from scantool.net and it is a huge difference in update speed and link reliability. Besides the communication ping time the data resolutution is superb.
Now that I'm getting ready to install my SD headers' I want to make sure my KR on my phone and the Tech2 at work match up, because I'm running 4 degrees right now on the Tech2. If i can see a 4 on my phone now, Ill know that a zero reading on my phone after headers isnt a fluke and is going to be accurate.
Thank Ian for the dedication and I look forward to seeing this issue resolved. All over the web I see L67 owners and other GM tuners in need of an inexpensive KR scanner and almost no one but HP tuners and Scangauge have found the solution. Breaking down this barrier would open up a huge market for this application.
Ive tried making my own PID's and had no luck, i get a reading from 0111 but I have no clue what it is besides possible engine load. Its really neat to see how these ECU's communicate especailly when you work on them everyday and all I see is 2.5v.
Keep us posted.

innovate makes one for the iphone/ipad and pc. you can also plug ur innovate wideband into it! they dont have an app for the android system yet but im sure its in the furture. its a $179, $165 on ebay, which is a little cheaper than the going rate for a used aeroforce gauge.

sorry if this was posted already i didnt read all 16 pages.

Innovate Motorsports OT-2 - Transform your iPhone or iPod into a wireless gauge, data logger, dyno, efficiency meter and OBDII scan tool.

There is also a way to calculate KR from timing advance fwiw

Hi

I've released a few (required for the scanning features) updates to Torque, and am now working on getting the scanner app correct (It's already been quite interesting to see it scanning on my own vehicle!)

I need to make it more user friendly though before I release it, then hopefully you'll be able to drag some useful info out of the vehicles so we can see what's going on. Sorry it's taking so long, but once it's done, it's done and will hopefully be really useful.

It won't get *all* the information like the required units and formula to put the data back together (thats still one of the bits that will need working out) but it will tell us where the extended PID blocks are so we can start working out /what/ they are.

Bump, as soon as the kr feature is 100% I'm sold , I already have a HTC evo 4g. Just need the application and adapter... what seems to currently be the best cheap blue tooth adapter

Update, Just connected it today and KR now lights up green with the latest update. KR showed 0 at all times but then again my setup shouldn't have KR. Anyone have access to both a scan gauge and this app get a chance to compare readings?

Did you try and tap the knock sensor? I think if you tap on it, it will read KR and you should know if it was working or not. But then again having a working scan gauge to compare to would be the real test.

I use the cheapo adapter from Ebay.

I did not tap on the block by the knock sensor, but I did send a coms debug log to Ian and he found that the car was sending KR info but he believes the formula is incorrect. I have been running around all day and have not had time to play with it some more... I am gonna try to do that now.

Im totally in on this once it is for sure working 100%. A write up with really good instructions on how to install the pids ad such would be amazing.

Ok I cleared the PIDs i had set and loaded a fresh set supplied with the app. Deleted and re-made the gauges for KR. Now it reads a constant 14.6 degrees lol

Got it. Yes, the 14.6 is a bug, I've just fixed it and if you upgrade to version 1.4.66 available on the Android Market right now, KR (and other PIDs) should start working :)

Have fun!

Ian

Wait until a couple of people who already have the adapters have seen it working - I've only seen it from logfiles at the moment (so it appears to work) but I need someone with 1.4.66 to test where they *know* they have a value other than '0' for knock or can compare against another device :)
