AN Fuel Line Setup

SyntheticShield

Well with the car out of commission and planning to yank the engine along with the tranny so I can rebuild the tranny and do some engine upgrades, Im wanting to do a complete AN fuel set up. Tank to rails. From the connection to the fuel pump, to the connection at the rails.

I know they make quick connect/disconnect AN fittings so I can connect to both the pump and rail without modification, what I dont have are all the part numbers and stuff I would need. Well I have a couple, but I want to make a complete list on what I will need so I can order everything and I also need to know what size SS Braided line I need.

I believe the feed line and return lines are different sizes, arent they? If so, what size fuel line do I need to get.

Anyway, if you have done a complete set up I would certainly appreciate pictures and part numbers. I havent decided if I will do after market rails yet because the only ones I would consider are PRJ's and they aren't cheap. Id rather do the lines now and save up for the fuel rails later since I could easily do those with everything back in the car.

I appreciate any and all help.

I thought I had the numbers saved in my PM's but apparently I dont and it will have to wait until I get home to post up what I have.

Scotty, I will go out to my S10 and snag those numbers and post them up when I get home from work. also for the difference in size...yes the fittings are different size..the fittings make up for it, as you are able to use the same -6 line. I will put together a list for ya tonight...but until then.

BAN TOASTY!!! MEWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

I want this info too! I want to do this mod this weekend with my car. I plan on using XRP fittings since I can get em local here.

ok, sorry for the wait. the quick disconnect fittings to -6AN line are:

640850, and 640860. sorry, these were made by Russel......this gives you both the 3/8ths, as well as 5/16ths.

then you will need the female ends that screw onto these fittings. these are entirely up to you...which angle you want.

I personally like Aeroquip line..this is what I use in all my cars.

I go through summit, or jegs...as they usually have fittings cheaper...

So those fittings would be the quick connnect/disconnect that would get me connected to the pump and rails, correct? Then it would just be a matter of running the line from from those connectors with female connectors? Am I missing anything?

What about the fuel filter?

who needs a fuel filter??

:th_laugh-pointup:

at that point, you could likely run an aftermarket type fuel filter setup, using whatever size fitting neccessary...

Well I didnt know if it would be good to continue to use the OEM filter or just use one specifically for an AN set up.

eh, i dont think it matters too much, just more of a question of weather or not the AN line size would fit the push on side of the fuel filter.
