ok so in my boat i have 4 subs and they have been working good for the few years that i have owned the boat and last year one day they just stopped working the amp was getting power just not putting anything to the subs and i couldn't find it out. so i decided to hook up the kicker amp i had in my car to there and it sparked and the protection light comes on and it don't work and i don't know why. any ideas as why it would just stop working and blow a amp when i hook it up?

incorrect wiring? A short?

You did disconnect the positive or negative from the battery before you hooked up the amp right?

go through with a voltmeter and test all your + and - connections. Triple check your ground wire. Mine came loose so occasionally it would trip the protection.

Yeah Check and make sure your getting the correct voltage from your positive power (12-14.4v) that would turn on your protect light, also check your fuses on your amps make sure you didn't blow anything.
