Amp hook up

thats where mine is, same stud the alt power line runs too, off the top of the fuse box. make sure you got a inline fuse of some sort.

you can see my cute little red amp wire. i also drilled a hole under the windshield, took the cowl off, drilled hole, feed the wire in the hole, and it came out the pass side to the floor like nothing.

I think that, even on a '97, there's a pass thru grommet on the floor near the center, under the heater box that with the proper amount of coaxing and cuss words, a 0 gage cable will pass. A bit of RTV will help keep things dry when the wire is through. I mounted my fuse holder to the strut tower, right next to the fuse block. I piggy backed on the bolt that the positive battery cable attaches to.

There's a grommet by the brake booster that a 0 gauge could fit through. Others have fed it through the rubber grommet near the P/S floor. There's lots of places...

I used the grommet on the passanger side floor, she took 4ga really nice. I just went directly from the batt because I didnt like the fact it would be drawing power through the stock cables but its moot because im using the stock ground still. I just bought a battery post for side terminal batteries from AZ and it works fine. Can remove the power wire for the amp and my HIDs without pulling the whole terminal.

What size amp are you running? That looks like a 12ga wire, so what is your amp, like 50 watts total power?

my car is wired for 1200 watts and the wire is a pain to work with when i went to wire it i found it was previously wired for an amp so i didn't have to drill a hole at all.
