American Sniper

Well Ventura did win in court soooo....... And how can anyone hate Jesse Ventura? Served in the Military, professional wrestler who's in the WWE hall of fame, was a moderate while in office. You want an American hero that's it!

And you do realize that Jack Nicholson was the villain in that movie right? That quote was supposed to be an absurd statement that sensable people would disagree with...

Give me a f*cking break. Every since he was a wrestler he has been about getting noticed.
The thing that really bothers me is this, he sued for defamation of character... But I'm willing to wager the lawsuit did more to hurt his "good name" then Kyle punching him for running his cock sucker.

Basically you're saying the military should have impunity and the ends will always justify the means. That's a pretty messed up way to think.

And maybe if Kyle hadn't told those lies in the first place he never would have brought a lawsuit. Shooting off your mouth has consequences kiddies.

Douchebags who claim murder, or I've read serial killer just don't understand war, or rules of engagement. If there were a moment any of those verified kills were improper, he'd be in a world of shyt!

Too many confuse the CONTRACTORS over there who were hired Merc's and provided a blanket of security to rebuilding and security operations that could not truthfully be undertaken by any nation. So they subcontracted it out, and the security too. They had a very different mop/rules... Moron anti-gunners, anti-war fanatics and tree huggers should re-examine the world they live in and the human condition which they are obviously confused about.

this movie is not about any of this... It's about a man, his choices and the consequences of those choices, both good and bad. Rich mans war, poor mans fight... And because he did it well there are some who wish to vilify him. ****em all!

just like the asswipe Moore, saying something about his uncle in WWII... Like ok, yeah, the story has a connection... Not! Just a narcissist wanting a bit of sunshine, ignore him and he'll go away.

Such is the life of any celebrity, or someone who makes their living being in the public eye. I don't blame Kim for posting those nudes online, she's gotta make money somehow. And it seemed like Kyle had a vested interest in the lime light as well with the wild stores he told.

I knew some POS (probably a democrat) would start cvnting about Chris Kyle. He's no murderer and he didn't have issues. It's mind over matter. He minds and terrorists don't matter.

He shot women, kids AND men. He didn't pick and choose who he wanted to shoot. He had to shoot kids because the terrorist are pvssies and couldn't do it themselves so they made kids do it. It's the terrorists fault so take it out on them not Chris Kyle. Also Some of those kids become terrorists so chances are, he stopped future BS.

He did what he had to do to keep his soldiers safe and not only them, he kept himself, his family and everyone in the U.S. safe. He IS a TRUE American Hero.

The fact that you, K Slice, would think twice about shooting a kid who was going to blow up American soldiers goes to show you are weak and selfish.

Ahhh yes you win a lawsuit because you have Jesse Ventura money and had help when they deemed his witness to intoxicated . Proves nothing in my eyes just proves that money and the right lawyer can get you what you want but that's the typical American way... Someone says something negative about you then you turn around and sue them well in this case you continue on with the lawsuit and sue his wife.. Disgusted.. And there's always that one guy that thinks this is ok..

Most people (including myself) would not consider him a murderer for what he did in war if that's what you're saying. It's his other unverified claims that would make him one, he said he killed those people after Katrina, and at that gas station, but who knows...

And Ventura probably should have dropped the suit after his death, I agree keeping it going was in bad taste. But the proof is in the pudding, the Jury decided Ventura had been defamed and that's what he was suing for.

Yes but the KEY to the lawsuit was that Venturas lawyer convinced the jury that the witnesses didnt count. Defamation suits HAVE to be false. Truth can be told.

let me put it plain and simple.

WAR knows no age, no race, no gender. Threaten friendly forces you best hope you squeeze that trigger before I do.

Basically you're saying the military should have impunity and the ends will always justify the means. That's a pretty messed up way to think.

You are mixing apples and oranges, what he did while on tour of duty, has nothing to do with what he did at home. And infantile would be the mind that would equate on Jesse Ventura with a category of Hero! His character is far from reproach, so please go gently there, Ventura served in the 70's, certainly not in operations anything remotely similar to Afghanistan or Iraq.

While we are on the impunity subject, I would ask if you ever served? Or are you a political hack that thinks you can armchair a military operation while sitting in the comfort of your living room? There are strict rules of engagement when conducting an operation, you think it's like the movies? Run around and shoot whatever the **** you want? That you should be able to shoot the gun out of someone's hand? Don't use flame throwers while the enemy can? You want to hold men who are in harms way to a higher standard than those wishing to do them harm? I remember when we (the U.S.) families were sending better ballistic plates to our servicemen over there because the military couldn't... Needed because the insurgents were using armor piercing rounds against us, but we couldn't because they'd go through the block/brick walls of houses the insurgents were using... Potentially causing collateral damage and possible casualties.

Politics has no place in WAR, its an ugly, dirty business and too many of the sheep here would never stomach seeing the carcasses of wolves devoured by the sheepdog. After all the wolves were gone, the sheep would turn away the sheepdog, wondering if they'd be eaten too, just never really getting it, so fearful of even its own shadow, it would turn on its own benefactor. While many think they can sit and judge, they have no place doing so until it is they themselves that have stared down the business end of someone wanting to end their life... Doesn't matter why, just in that moment of when your existence could end...

Anyway, try that for 4 tours, under constant threat, stress and perform. Let us know how you're doing when you get back, don't forget to send postcards while you're over there. Until then, just enjoy the story for what it is, and what it isn't...

X2

Also, the crap that went on in katrina was complete chaos. All I'm gonna say is if I was in katrina and some uneducated, 2nd rate, welfare ass, looting thug was near me, I would shoot his/her ass down too!

So I just got back from watching American Sniper. Fantastic. The movie had the perfect balance between his civilian life and combat life. Kill shots were phenomenal and accurate to his book as well. Clint Eastwood did a great job but I think Bradley Cooper did the best job overall. He changed his voice and accent to match Chris Kyle's and it was dead on. This is something that's not done very often and isn't very good when most actors/actresses do it but the fact that he made it happen really made the movie a little more special. This is a movie you should see and respect what Chris Kyle did to keep us safe. Also, from what I understand, the book is something worth reading regardless if you've seen the movie or not
