alternator nut size?

I need a new nut for my alternator, the one that goes to the positive cable. Anybody know what size I need?

Hmm doesn't it fit a 13mm socket. If I'm correct you should be able to take a socket in one of your local hardware stores and find a nut that fits inside.

Shoot, I forgot. And no it's not a 13mm.
But a 13mm wrench will fit it.

I just went and put a thread gauge on it and it shows to be a 8mmx1.25.

if its not 13mm its 1/2in, though Grand Prix's are primarily metric.

Yea a 1/2"socket will fit to take it off but I think he wants to know the size of the threads.
