i know you can buy these rewires anywhere online but can you not just make them yourself and get the same performance out of your home made one ?

Yeah, it is just a beefy wire with a ring terminal at each end. Nothing magic about it. A DIY job will be every bit as good.

ok cool so about 2 gauge wire should be good right ? i look at it this way i can buy a zzp alt rewire for $14 but then pay another $23 just to ship it to me, or just make one for $14 or less

I used 2 gauge cost me $10 to make a couple of them, and I soldered the ring terminals as I don't trust a crimp
