Alt rewire problems

I just tried to install the alternator rewire from zzp, i bolted it on the back of the alternator and the top of the fuse box with the negative battery cable disconnected. once installed and battery hooked up, i went to pop the trunk with the switch on the door. When i pushed it over you could hear everything play thru the speakers (doors unlock, lock, and pop truck). i went and tried to start it and the battery was dead, just the relays clicking. Then the fog lights were flashing, so i took the rewire kit off and had to jump the car to start it. The battery is pretty new and never gave any problems and hasnt since i took the re wire off. what could this be?

thanks

ive dont multiple BIG three installs and never disconnected anything. Never have i seen this issue. UNless our wire touched or grounded out somewhere.

Yeah, thats kinda what I thought. But it was only touching the stud on the back of the alternator and the stud on top of the fuse box.

Sounds like a bad ground. Make sure your battery terminal and cable are clean and tight. Double check the engine and body grounds too.

i wanna see pics of this install, will help gather more info. just hooking up one alt wire wont make you car bug out

I never got around to trying it again.
Bill, Yes i did reconnect it and I cleaned the negative cable while it was off.
JTeske88, I have a pic of it while it was installed on my phone but photobucket is not loading for me tonight. ill post one when it starts working.

Thanks
