• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Alright guys. What first

I know I been asking lots of questions, and I had a plan for exhaust and intake.
I been reading through some of the older topics and I am not sure what to do.

I am on a limited budget, What mods should I start out with. The car is completely stock and I dont plan on trying to make it a drag strip rocket. Id just like a little more get up and go. But something that is still quite efficient. Good mileage and reliable.
What are your suggestions

headers 200-260ish, (with some modification)
intake 30-40
tune 100-150

Should keep you right at the exact same mpgs, but alot more power and it will breath better.

Ok so I am figuring for intake I will just do a hot air cone. couple inches of pipe with a decent cone.
As for headers, should I spend the money and get my buddy to do a full 3" exhaust at his shop? or just get a set of headers and fit them to the stock system?

This is the route I will be going now that all of the routine things are done.

Just curious, what sort of hp gains this might yield?

Go with the Speed Daddy headers off ebay for $200ish shipped.

And as for a start these guys are on the right track.
1. Headers
2. Intake
3. 3.4/3.5 pulley + Tune

From there its whatever really. A ported blower is a nice mostly free mod.

How's the maintenance on the car? I would do lower control arms, wheel bearings and make sure the gaskets like lower intake and valve covers are replaced or not leaking.

I started with a intake, downpipe and tune. Then I moved on to a 3.4 with headers. Then rockers. Then full size IC then cam

But nothing feels better than a car that rides solid and handles smoothly , so check your maintenance

Car rides and runs good now. Haha. The only issues remaining is just the slightly low fuel mileage. I have come to think its that my from tires are pretty worn and may be the cause as I have done everything I can think of to fix the issue. And I have my ABS light on. Which I think is just a fuse. The brakes were just done

Abs is most likely a bad wheel bearing. The bearin itself could be good. It the sensor is defective. You can't fix it, you need to buy a whole new bearing.
I had good luck with the ones from wbody store soo far

Timkens from Rock Auto are awesome. I have 45k miles on one with no probs.
My factory front wheel hubs died at 32k and 40k the Timkens are way better than stock.

Tune, then mod the car. Tuning will give you a baseline to figure what you should do with the car. Don't throw parts at it and expect great things.
