• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Greetings! I am not new to having a Pontiac but new to the Grand Prix site. I have a 2005 GTO sitting back home while I am here in Hawaii.

Currently I serve in the Army as a Warrant Officer. Since money is tight for me I went online and found myself a 98 Grand Prix GT to sort of fix back up since the last owner did nothing to take care of the car. He went as far as to admit he didnt take care of it and said time and time again that he would love to keep it but just couldnt afford to fix it.

He actually claimed it was a GTP and I had not seen the car till we went to his sisters house, where it was kept. He had said in his posting on craigslist the car was a mechanics special. The motor mounts were bad. Well when I picked it up I also found that the water pump was bad, and is leaking oil out of the oil pan pretty good. It also has a transmission coolant leak coming out the radiator. So my guess was he drove it around for a while on bad mounts causing second and third effects. Great was all i could think about.

Since I am not new to the 3800 motors I figure I will just fix as time goes by, I wished it had been a supercharged but the price was right so I snatched it up.

Well that should do it for my introduction. Changed the mounts already and gonna tackle the water pump.

Thanks, and as I started pulling the water pump I decided to do a lower intake manifold gasket swap while I am working on the car. I hate saying but this thing needs some work!
