• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

AjL227's XP, S2 IC, 2.8" CompG build

whats your idle set at?

750 RPM.

Lower the idleeeeeee

Lower than 750 RPM? And risk oil pressure?

I saw he had zzp's poly lower motor mount. I have all poly mounts upper and lower and any idle under 950 will rattle the teeth outta your head

They don't cause vibrations half as bad as I was expecting from everything I've heard. My set up is poly uppers/lower engine mount, and poly transaxle mount.

I still have over 25psi at idle when warm after I figured out what was up with my car...my idle? Set at 650.

The car got washed yesterday. I did a quick photo shoot, and grabbed another idle vid, this time during the day.

Im doing the xp build just like yours with the double chain, what did the machine shop have to do to match the crank gear for the timing chain?

But i think the machined pump cover might still be required.

Rollmaster and JP double roller timing sets were manufactured for the Australian 3800 crank's. As long as the crank gear key way chamfer, and cam gear are machined within proper offset tolerances of each other, you only need to double gasket to be golden. This is assuming, both gears are fully seated as they should be. The machined oil pump cover is only needed, if you improperly installed your timing set.
