Air Leak on supercharger

How long ago did you buy it? These spacers are from zzperformance.com you can see the difference

Alright I found a gasket put the throttle body back on tightened her down
changed the coolant and gave her a oil change today
that hole does not leak air now since I took out the spacer
so what I'm thinking is that hole I like a tattletale lets you know if your leaking
so thanks to all that helped

That hole looks like the other side of where the throttle body stud goes.

If it's directly behind where the stud is then my guess is the the long stud for the spacer went in too far and then it was backed. Other wise I think it might be the stop for the bbv. Take a pick of the motor from farther away to give a better idea of where it is

TB spacers are stupid and do nothing for power...but create the possibility for vacuum leaks and make hot spots on the rear head blocking coolant flow. Yay.

On my 05 impala ss, there's a metal rod that connects to the bbv in that hole. Will post a pick when I get home to my computer

That hole should not be there. I'm driving a 2000 GTP, no hole in the back of s/c. Weird man.... Definitely needs to be covered up.

Gave you bad info this morning man. For some reason I thought I was looking at the back of the s/c... Sorry man, just a couple notches above a noob myself. That is not a factory defect. There is a metal bar going into that hole that hooks up to the boost actuator. In light of the bad info, I took a lot of photos for ya to look at. Hope this helps.... Junkyard time.

thats the rod to the bov plate in the blower. in the op's case, his pics show the hole behind where the tb bolts on, about 4 inches to the right of the rod from the bbv.

see the hole in the corner there.

Yeah... sure do. That's the wrong hole. This hole is harder to find than my first time in the sack! Ha. But I looked a little closer, felt around a little and found that my s/c also has that hole. It's in the armpit of the bend of the metal there by the throttle body. The throttle body closes that hole on the other side. That hole isn't what is causing the suction sound. In my opinion you have a vacuum leak going on there. Most likely the hose that I show in the last pic with the red zip-tie, the thick one. Check that rat's nest of wires for a vacuum leak. Lots of hoses hook up there. Hope this helped.

It's all good. When I replaced the gasket and took out the spaced
the leak went away Happy to know that other people of the same hole on
the sc thanks

New here and unable to post an introductory for some reason. Have an 04 Grand Prix gtp that I purchased recently and have been getting codes p0507 idle higher than expected and p0243 turbo/supercharger solenoid. Figured it was a vacuum leak so I started by spraying MAF cleaner around the hoses, then worked my way down. Discovered that when I sprayed under the SC snout towards front of engine on top of the intake manifold the car would try to stall a bit. Shined my flashlight on there and discovered there is a hole, or gap, as if there is supposed to be gasket or something covering this spot. It’s about an inch long lengthwise ( back to front of car ) and about an eighth inch wide ( base of SC/top of Intake mani towards pulleys ) not sure how to add pictures yet but if this isn’t normal it would probably solve the issues I’m having. Thanks in advance and sorry if I’m posting in the wrong spot.

Being as I am unable to edit my profile to put pics up and don’t have photobucket, anyone wanting to see a video and pics can shoot me an email and I can attach them on there. [email protected]
