My 2003 GT makes quite a bit of air flow noise from the stock air box....but not all of the time. Sounds like a vac is on right behind the DS headlight where the air box is. Runs good and no CEL on. Getting 22-23.5 mpg. All tune up parts done.
Is this normal on these cars? I don't remember my other previous Pontiac's (Grand Am's) sounding this way.
 


22-23 combined isnt all bad.

Sound is pretty normal, cooler weather makes the IAC in the throttle body louder for sure. Cold starts are always very "loud" but tone down some as the car warms up.
 
Thanks FFDP. That seems to be the case here. Just making sure all is well. I've been considering trying a CAI. I imagine it would be just as loud, just a different tone.
