when i bought my car, it came with an aftermarket remote start installed, along with two factory key fobs that no longer operate anything. it's an Astrostart TX60A, and the part where it clips to the key ring is broken, so it's always loose in my pocket. needless to say, i've dropped it. repeatedly. it worked fine up until recently, when after no change, it started to just flash green when i held one of the buttons. like, every second. it wouldn't unlock or lock or start or do ANY tricks. i replaced the batteries - nice trip around town, 2016s are apparently collectibles around here - but that didn't change anything. i'm assuming it needs to be reprogrammed, but i lack a manual.
i don't suppose i could pick up a new key fob and it'd work with this module, right? or if i got a new module, given everything was already wired, would it be pretty much plug and play?
Smartstart would be pretty damn cool...
for now i'm stuck shoving the key into the door.......like an ANIMAL.
