Adhesive Advise

I am replacing my current door rocker panels, which are warped, for some better ones I got at a junkyard. What would be the best adhesive to use? I used 3M plastic badge and trim adhesive for the other panel that came loose, but it requires clamps, which was difficult to do. Is there a better product to use, I would really love some of the original tape used by the dealership.. it seamd to work well. And I noticed one of the panels had what looked like Black RTV on the top between the door and the panel, would that work, this is also the only panel that hasnt fallen off haha.

At the GM Dealership I work at, for body panels and such we use 3M VHB Tabe, doublesided 3/4" 15' rolls. Runs about $35 for a 15' roll at most auto parts stores, you just have to make sure its the "3M VHB". Its the best you can get, I used it to mount my roof rails on, and they are stuck, I can rock the car with them and they don't budge.

I can't find it at local stores, but I can find it the "VHB" on eBay for pretty cheap... but I cant find the Automotive one in half inch, do i need the automotive one?
