adding intake Q

Hi. I'm new to the site, just bought my first GP, 2004 gpt comp g, so far loving it.

I've been reading around the site, first thing i want to do is add an intake the the car. I'm going to with an "open cone" home made intake, just had one quick question. What do I do with the overflow valve(im not exactly sure what it is), it sits before the MAF and goes into the rubber tubing and back towards the center of the engine. do i make a hole into my new tubing and put it in there or do i get rid of that completely. if you need pics just let me know.

Thanks.

im not sure of what you talkin about but i did mine and just took out the old air box.. rubber bathroom piping then pvc to 9" spectrar filter but mines a 97 gtp

Its the recirculation hose that goes off the back of the SC housing to the intake.

I don't think it needs to be hooked up. I just plugged mine, but you could get a small nipple and a hose to plug into your intake tube if you wanted to keep it functional.

that would be it, recirculation hose. any other thoughts by people, have you just plugged it or have you added it into your cai?

thanks :)

It was attached to my K&N, but I recently changed my intake setup, so now its plugged. I don't think its a big deal either way.
